I had the pleasure of staying at a hostel with a garden, free WiFi, and the exciting option to play billiards. Plus, they provided a fantastic American breakfast to start the day!

Oh, and let's not forget the joy of trying to find the place since it's not on Google Maps. Such a delightful little adventure!

I had a wonderful stay at Casa Escalante. The staff was friendly and the hostel was clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and the kitchen was well-equipped. The location in Barrio Escalante was perfect, providing safety and easy access to the city center. The common areas were beautiful and there was ample seating and a pool table. I highly recommend Casa Escalante for a great stay in San Jose.

Although there were some minor inconveniences, such as the weak WiFi in the bedroom and the bunk bed setup in the private room, they did not significantly impact my overall experience at Casa Escalante. I still highly recommend this hostel.

We loved the dorm room with pods and convenient shelves and closets. The owners were kind and helpful, and the price was reasonable. Having breakfast included was a bonus!

The double room at Casa Escalante Hostel was cozy and comfortable, perfect for a relaxed stay. The shared bathroom had both a bath and a shower, making it convenient for any preference. As a karaoke and casino lover, I truly enjoyed the homely feel of this room.

Personally, I found that the lack of a kitchen in the quadruple room was a bit inconvenient. However, I understand that others may not mind this and still have a great time.

As a frequent traveler, I have stayed in numerous hotels around the world, and Casa Escalante truly stands out. the convenience of its location near the nearest airport, just 12 km away, made it an ideal choice for a transit stay during my travels. the reception staff at Casa Escalante were extremely accommodating when it came to the safety of my valuables. Although there were no security lockers, I was able to entrust my belongings to them, and they ensured everything was securely locked away.

While my overall stay at Casa Escalante was pleasant, there were a few minor issues that could be improved upon. One such issue was the showers.

the bed was super comfortable, the family who owns the place is incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the kitchen is the best I've seen in all my travels. I would definitely stay here again.

My stay at Casa Escalante was wonderful. The hostel was clean and well-organized, with attention to every detail. The daily cleaning was thorough, and the hostel itself was well-maintained. The location was perfect, with easy access to the Legislative Assembly, Barrio Chino, Mall San Pedro, and Parque Francia. Everything was within walking distance, making it convenient for exploring the city. The breakfast provided was delicious, allowing me to create a satisfying meal. Frederick and Marta, the owners, were friendly and provided excellent service. I highly recommend Casa Escalante for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in San Jose.

There were a few minor drawbacks during my stay. The WiFi in the bedroom was weak, so I had to move to the common area for a stronger connection.

Always choose this place for my stay. No regrets. Staff helped with currency. Suits me perfectly. Has everything I need: Free Wi-Fi, Kitchen, Laundry, TV room, VIP check-in, Billiard tables. Coming back for business trip. No smoking. Secure.

The neighborhood was super nice with tons of restaurants and bars. It felt very safe and was only a short half-hour walk from the center. The individual bunk beds were surprisingly soundproof, which was a pleasant surprise. The beds were clean and comfortable, with good mattresses. The kitchen was absolutely amazing - it was not only very big and new, but also always clean! I felt like I was in the kitchen of my dreams! The staff was friendly and the breakfast was tasty. The overall atmosphere of the place felt like visiting family, with lovely conversations in the kitchen and everyone watching TV together. I even made friends with the owner's adorable son, who felt like my little brother. I can't wait to come back! Oh, and their dog was super cute too!
